Research & Development at LG

Each of the three main business areas (Electronics, Chemicals, Telecommunication & Services) and most of the sister-companies run their own Research- and Development departments in Korea.

As a superordinated entity, LG's Technology Council is responsible for the internal organisation and strategic direction of LG's R&D activities. Members of the Technology Council are mainly CTO's from LG sister-companies. LGTCE is the European extension and representative of this Technology Council.

LG's R&D activities can be grouped into the advancement of existing products and the identification of totally new product- and business opportunities, internally called Future Growth Engines. An overview of forthcoming developments, for which we are also looking for external solution providers, can be found under LG Request for Proposal.

The majority of all R&D-activities are carried out either directly at LG's laboratories in Korea or at our European partner's sites, so that LGTCE can put his focus on the Technology Management.
