LG Display, a world-market leader in development and production of TFT-LCD panels. Regardless of big LCD panels for your PC-monitor or of high-resolution panels for mobile phones. LG Display's innovation power is reflected especially by its first world-wide product developments which have been brougt to mass production :
- 20.1inch TFT-LCD for TVs (June 2000)
- 12.1inch transflective TFT-LCD (March 2001)
- 42inch TFT-LCD for HDTVs (October 2002)
- 20.1inch LTPS (low temperature poly silicon) TCT-LCD (October 2002)
- 52inch TFT-LCD for HDTVs (December 2002)
- 55inch TFT-LCD for HDTVs (October 2003)
Beyond that, in 2006, LG Display developed the largest LCD-panel (100inch) worldwide.
Besides manufacturing locations in Korea and China, LG Display made siginificant investments in Europe, too. In 2006, LG Display opened its first European production location in Poland. And LG Display hopes to expand its European activities further into the area of joint-development projects together with potential European partners (please, see also Open Innovation).
